Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson Join “The Conjuring”

James Wan has found his two lead cast members for The Conjuring, the new supernatural thriller announced last year.

The picture will reunite Wan with his Insidious star Patrick Wilson, and Vera Farmiga (The Departed, Orphan).

In the 1970s, the Perrons lived in a Rhode Island that was claimed to have been a portal for friendly and evil spirits. This account was the subject of a book entitled “House of Darkness, House of Light: The True Story” by Andrea Perron.

Chad and Carey Hayes penned the script, which was originally set up in 2009 at Summit Entertainment. The project is now set up at New Line.

The Hayes brothers previously penned House of Wax, The Reaping and Whiteout.

Insidious Blu-Ray Screencaptures

I’ve had these sitting on my hard drive for weeks and just realized that I hadn’t added them yet, so without further adieu here are the Insidious blu-ray screencaptures that I totally forgot to add!

Official “Young Adult” Alternate Trailer

Here’s a slightly different trailer for Jason Reitman‘s new film Young Adult. The film is scripted by Diablo Cody and features Charlize Theron as Mavis, a struggling, damaged author who heads back to her home town to win back her old flame, played by Patrick Wilson. Trouble is, he’s a married family man. Not that it really matters to Mavis. She’s determined to bulldoze her way back into his life.

“The Ledge” Due in July

A sneak preview of the new IFC Films motion picture “The Ledge” will be available beginning May 11 on Sundance Now by visiting www.sundancenow.com.

The film, which stars Charlie Hunnam, Liv Tyler, Patrick Wilson, Terrence Howard and Christopher Gorham, will arrive in theatres July 8; it will also be available on video on demand beginning May 25.

“The Ledge” was written by Matthew Chapman, who also directs.

“In this race-against-time thriller,” press notes state, “the opposing philosophies of two men embroiled in a complicated love triangle with a beautiful woman (Liv Tyler) escalate into a lethal battle of wills. Ultimately, the believer (Patrick Wilson) forces the non-believer (Charlie Hunnam) onto the ledge of a tall building. He gives him one hour to make a choice between his own life and someone else’s, while a policeman (Terrence Howard) tries to convince him to come down from the ledge. Without faith in an afterlife, will he be capable of such a sacrifice?”

Patrick Replacing Luke Wilson in “Barry Munday”?

To be honest I’m losing track on just who is attached to this project – the plug got pulled somewhere in early 06′ and has just now has been resuscitated. According to Variety, Patrick Wilson (who has seen his stock go up significantly since Todd Field’s Little Children and has starring roles in Lakeview Terrace, The Watchmen and Passengers) is probably taking over the lead role that was assigned to Luke Wilson – they both have the same build, so I’d argue that this is indeed the case.

Barry Munday still has Chris D’Arienzo on board to direct his debut (from his own script) with filming to being in April and remain in Los Angeles. The indie pic (2 dollar bet this preems in Sundance of 09′) is based on Frank Turner Hollon’s novel “Life Is a Strange Place”, this is about a womanizer who wakes up sans his “family jewels” after an irate father attacks him with a trumpet. Things go from bad to worse for the title character when he learns that he’s being sued for paternity by a woman he can’t even remember having sex with.

The project is co-financed by Mickey Barold and Stone Douglass’ Stick N Stone Prods. and Matthew Weaver and Scott Prisand’s Corner Store Entertainment. Eric Kopeloff is producing; Marcos Siega and Carl Levin will exec produce.
